Kelly and Jeff Tied!!! The long awaited answers to Wuzzlers With A Twist.

1. One day Kerry celebrated her birthday. Two days later her older twin brother, Terry, celebrated his birthday. How could this be?

Answer: At the time the mother of the twins went into labor she was travelling by boat. The older twin, Terry, was born first, early on March 1st. The boat then crossed the International Date Line and the younger twin, Kerry, was born on February 28th. In a leap year the birthdays are two days apart.

2. A man went to a party and drank some of the punch. He then left early. Everyone else at the party who drank the same punch were poisoned and became very sick. Why did the man not get sick?

Answer: Because the poison was in the ice cubes. The ice cubes had not melted yet when he drank the punch.

3. Why is it better to have round manhole covers than square ones?

Answer: A square manhole cover can be turned and dropped down the manhole diagonally. A round monhole cover cannot. So manhole covers are round for safety.

4. A woman had two sons who were born on the same hour of the same day of the same year. But they were not twins. How could this be so?

Answer: They were two of a set of triplets or quadruplets. Alternate answer: one was adopted.

5. Why can't a man living in the USA be buried in Canada?

Answer: Neither country buries the living.

Headline: The WuzzleGate Story

WuzzleGate takes a dramatic turn as federal authorities execute a warranted search of the wuzzlemeister's email logs and produce the smoking gun - Kelly's missing email with answers to 2,3 and 5. The wuzzlemeister had this to say upon being asked about the circumstances of the missing email:

"In all of my time as wuzzlemeister I have never profited, never profited from this public service. I have earned every cent honestly and in all of my time in this public life I have never obstructed justice. And I think too, that I can say, that in my time of public life, that I welcome this kind of examination because the people have got to know that their wuzzlemeister is not a crook. Well I'm not a crook."

Administration officials at the wuzzlehouse said that the week #4 wuzzle results are under review and will be delayed indefinitely pending further scrutiny. The subpeona forced wuzzler staff to disclose the email in question:

-----Original Message-----
From: KELLY MATHERLY [mailto:kellymatherly@msn.com]
Sent: Sunday, October 29, 2006 3:59 AM
To: Matherly, Michael
Subject: wuzzlers

Considering the hour, here are my guesses to some:

#2. HE is the one who poisoned the punch after he drank some.

#3 Probably because manholes are round.

#5 It's illegal to bury someone who is living - even in Canada.

Let me know if you don't get these! Love to all. Kelly.

Perhaps I'll have more guesses tomorrow or Monday or Tuesday.

Wuzzlemeister was heard saying the following as he was lead away by staffers "Tell her #2 is SOOOOO WrongOOOO, #3 - Not even close, and #5 - lucky guess."

Jeff and Kelly are neck and neck again this week!!! Are they the only two Matherlys intelligent or brave enough to even try?!?!

Here are Jeff's submissions. Jeff got 4 and 5 right (generally). Good job Jeff!! But keep trying...

1. One day Kerry celebrated her birthday. Two days later her older twin brother, Terry, celebrated his birthday. How could this be?
Terry's twin is not Kerry.

2. A man went to a party and drank some of the punch. He then left early. Everyone else at the party who drank the same punch were poisoned and became very sick. Why did the man not get sick?
I dunno ... he was the one who poisoned the punch?

3. Why is it better to have round manhole covers than square ones?
Easier to put cover back on cuz no orientation is needed?

4. A woman had two sons who were born on the same hour of the same day of the same year. But they were not twins. How could this be so?
One's adopted? or they were 2 of 3 triplets?

5. Why can't a man living in the USA be buried in Canada?
I think Canada has a law against burying the living.

And here are Kelly's two submissions... #1 is mostly correct. If any one can provide a more clearly stated answer to this one, you'll get the points- but for now Kelly is closest! Good job, Mom!

#1 Either Terry wasn't Kerry's twin OR when they were born, it was near mid-night - one was born before midnight, the other was born after midnight and now they are on different continents where the days are different and therefore they celebrate two days apart!

#4 (I think) They were adopted.

Kelly closed her email with: "Thems my answers and I'm sticking with them. Let me know if you don't receive this!" And then I emailed her that I hadn't received them and she emailed them to me again... ;)

Yuan Yuan made up a few Wuzzlers. Enjoy.

1.

A cat and a dog married each other and they made little ones and both
of the two little ones were half dog and half cat. Did they bark or meow?

2.

A chicken had problems but his mom and dad did not. He did not know what happened
to him. Was he sick or was he just feeling bad?

3.

Yuan Yuan went to school and there was a kid that was sneezing and coughing. They did not know what they should do. Should they take to the hospital or should they take him to a nurse?

4.

A clown ate a balloon. Did he get sick or did he go to the hospital?

5.

If I eat ten bananas will I climb trees like a monkey or eat ten more bananas?

WuzzlerGate

Dear Sirs/Madams...

On the data in question I saw Mr. Michael Matherly (aka WuzzlerMeister) talking to this young man (see attached photo). During their conversation I heard them discussing "How can we screw grandma out of her prize".

Use this info as you will, but dont ask me to verify it nor come forward and publicly accuse them.

InSincerely,

Since the advent of the Wuzzlers, I have rearranged my schedule so I can take the 5 minutes needed to answer them. I'll make it up on weekends. Kelly's excuse about being busy at cocktail hour before 4 o'clock kinda worries me though. ;-)

WHAT DID THE WUZZLE MASTER KNOW AND WHEN DID HE KNOW IT?

-Midlothian, VA
As the WuzzlerGate scandal continues to unfold the question is now being asked "What did Michael Matherly (Aka: The Wuzzlemeister) know and when did he know it? Phone calls to Wuzzler Enterprises were not returned by press time. However, Blog News received the following statement:

"Us here at Wuzzler Enterprises ain't got nuttin' to do wit no Wuzzle contest fixin'. We leave dat kinda ting to our lawyers. Me and da boys here would appreciate it if youse guys would just butt out of our bidness. If youse don't butt out youse gonna be sleeping wit da fishes, Capice?

A defiant Kelly Matherly, the alleged victim in the case, had only this to say about the scandal:
"All I know is that I sent in my email when I was supposed to. Now they tell me that they didn't get the email, they say it never arrived. Well, all I've got to say is that the whole process stinks. I was cheated. Pthffth!

For Those Of Us Who Can't Do The F&%$#$^ING!! Puzzles

Type This In Your Address Browser And Smoke It!!! In honor of Michael's company's catch phase.

WHAT'S UP YOUR KILT?

http://humor.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=humor&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwhatsupyourkilt.com%2F

If that isn't enough for you try this humorous musical number along the same lines.

http://www.allerdice.net/Downloads/Scotsman%20Song.mp3

Here are the word in case you can't decipher the brogue.

Well a Scotsman clad in kilt left a bar on evening fair
And one could tell by how we walked that he drunk more than his share
He fumbled round until he could no longer keep his feet
Then he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

About that time two young and lovely girls just happend by
And one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
See yon sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt

They crept up on that sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
And there behold, for them to see, beneath his Scottish skirt
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth

They marveled for a moment, then one said we must be gone
Let's leave a present for our friend, before we move along
As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon, tied into a bow
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show

Now the Scotsman woke to nature's call and stumbled towards a tree
Behind a bush, he lift his kilt and gawks at what he sees
And in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes.
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize

Enjoy!

Me and Markie get together, after 20+ years, in Framingham,MA

Markie and I got together for dinner at John Harvard's Pub in Framingham, MA (just outside Boston) on my recent business trip to the area. Marc lives in Wellesley, the next town over, where he is a neuro scientist/biology professor/researcher at Wellesley College. Marc has a lovely bride of 5 years (Carly) and two adorable children ages 2 and 4 - see picture below! Unfortunately (for me at least), his family was vacationing in Vancouver, where Carly is from, during my visit so I did not have the pleasure of meeting them - maybe next time! Marc looks great and is doing great!!
